The foundation “Het Vergeten Kind” organised a press conference in Madurodam. Children living in shelter homes were allowed to ask famous Dutch people questions.
The press conference was held by Siham Raijoul, which presents “het Jeugdjournaal” (a kids’ news program) and actor/presentor Johnny de Mol. The event started with the questions of the 28 mini journalists. After that the celebrities known for their achievements in sport and culture got the chance to interview the children. People such as actress Angela Schijf, dancer Juvat Westendorp, former boxer Arnold Vanderlyde, DJ Don Diablo and state secretary Jetta Klijnsma were present.
Some of the questions led to very special moments. Arnold Vanderlyde explained what an uppercut was by punching Johnny de Mol for instance. Juvat Westendorp was challenged by one of the children to dance to the music of DJ Don Diablo. The foundation announced that they will be working together with “het Jeugdsportfonds” (a youth sport foundation), “het Jeugdcultuurfonds” (a culture foundation dedicated to children) and “Stichting Jarige Job” to enable children in shelter homes to exercise, dance and have more fun.
